Online Tournament Milestone
We are pleased to announce that First City Chess successfully hosted its first USCF Online-Rated tournament on December 20, 2025. The event ran smoothly and marked an important milestone for the club as we expand our online tournament offerings.
Congratulations to Jacob, who finished in third place—well played!
More online tournaments, including both Chess.com platform-rated and USCF online-rated events, will be announced soon.
Instruction & Player Development
As we move into the new year, the club continues to focus on player improvement and instruction, including:
- Weekly puzzle sets at in-person meetings
- Remote instruction via LiChess Classroom and ChessKid
- Ongoing curriculum development for beginner and intermediate players
